Global Warming
Injustice exists in the world, and that is why people call it the “cruel, cruel, world.” There are many types of injustice, such as animal abuse and bullying. Anna Sewell wrote a novel, Black Beauty, that discusses injustice. Global Warming is both a growing problem and an injustice. It is one of the most serious injustices.

For all the people on earth, Global Warming is a very terrible mistake that people have made. We didn’t realize this until it was too late, but by then, it had already changed ourselves, animals, and also the planet. The greenhouse gases, Carbon Dioxide, Methane, and Nitrous Oxide, fog up the sky, which results in a blanket that keeps the earth warm—but now just a little too warm. These gases come from cars, factories, and volcanoes. Although the eruption of volcanoes is natural, cars’ and factories’ gases are the main problem. Icebergs are melting quickly, and soon beautiful tropical islands will be engulfed by rising sea levels.
Melting icebergs translates into “trouble” for polar bears, penguins, and walruses, as the bears can’t swim without landing on something soon, penguins lose their habitat, and baby walruses get abandoned by their mothers as they search for ice further up north. We should be ready to say goodbye to endangered Gray Whales, frogs, due to skin fungus, Arctic Foxes, Koala Bears, who die from less nutrition in their food, and many others on a long list. Aldabra Banded Snails are already extinct! These innocent animals don’t deserve to suffer from our mistakes. What did they ever do to us?

We are being hurt too, our troubles ranging from loss of water, strokes, spreading malaria, heart attacks, smog-related deaths, floods, and much more. Life can’t go on much longer if we keep doing this. This is our home, our one and only home, Earth.
In our world, Global Warming is harming animals, plants, the planet, but most of all, us. Anna Sewell, in her novel Black Beauty, reminds us that we are responsible for whatever we do, and that sympathy towards everything is part of the solution, just like medicine cures several illnesses. Black Beauty also teaches us that a little compassion can go a long way. It shows us that if we care for someone else, help comes in two-fold. One day, we won’t want to look at our ruined planet and say, “It is all our fault.”
